Non-Tenured Teacher Program

We pride ourselves in providing a variety of supports to our new staff members.  We host an August orientation and monthly meetings for support and book study.  We also assign a mentor teacher, buddy teacher, and instructional coach to provide individual support to each new teacher.  The New Teacher Handbook document below describes the program in greater depth and includes embedded links and calendar information for our new staff.

Emerson's District Mentoring Plan complies with current New Jersey regulations surrounding the mentoring of teachers working under provisional certificates.

To discuss our supports for non-tenured staff, please contact Alice Opperman, Director of Curriculum, Instruction & Technology at AOpperman@emersonschools.org.
