Lead a Professional Development Course

Some of our best professional development courses are led by teachers in the district.  If you would like to design and lead a course for your colleagues, please follow the course proposal process below.

Course Proposal Process

  1. Course Identification

    1. Teacher request - Can someone teach me how to ____?

    2. Administrator request - Can someone run a course in ______?

    3. Facilitator expertise/idea - I would like to run a course in _____.

  2. Course Design

    1. Facilitator contacts Director of Curriculum to discuss the course.

    2. Facilitator completes the Course proposal form and submits to Director of Curriculum.

  3. Course Review

    1. Curriculum Director reviews completed proposals with building principal and relevant supervisors and makes final approval.

    2. Completed proposals will be available to the PD Committee in a shared folder for reference.

  4. Posting For Stipended Position at Contractual Rate (if applicable)

  5. Board of Education Approval of Stipended Position BEFORE Course Begins

  6. Course Advertisement and Registration

  7. Course Runs!

  8. Course Documentation

    1. Facilitator submits Sign-in sheets from participants to Director of Curriculum.

    2. Facilitator submits relevant notes or presentations to be posted on the district website.

    3. Participants fill out the PD Certificate form on in order to get a certificate
